Kay has an A.S. degree in Interior Design from Seminole State College, a B.A. degree from Rollins College, an M.Ed. degree from Rollins College and is a certified school psychologist from Rollins College.

Kay has designed homes in Florida, Colorado and South Carolina, as well as condos in Florida. Beach condos are a specialty, incorporating her love for the sea, seashells, and shell artistry. Besides interior design, Kay specializes in custom shell work for unique pieces of shell art to compliment any interior.
